- Eli
- Hi, I'm Eli! I'm a Senior Production Artist at Engrain, and I freelance as Eli Landsman Designs. Pick one of the tools floating around my head and I'll tell you what I've made with it.
- Illustrator
- Logos start here. I redrew the Sea of Stones logo for Winthorp Marketing, and Wilt Home Services got a logo, business cards, door hangers and thank-you cards. Nobody frames a door hanger. Theirs is kerned properly anyway.
- Photoshop
- For my “In a Bite” movie poster I photographed a skull sitting on a reflective surface, then edited it until it was eating San Francisco. I reshaped the serifs in the title too, so the letters feel like bones.
- InDesign
- This is where the books happen. I designed an orihon, a folding booklet, around an interview with a man named Brandon, and Design Insight, a book about Erik Spiekermann, Ikko Tanaka, and Charles and Ray Eames.
- Premiere Pro
- MarqVision’s “Ask Mark Anything” was ten videos of their CEO, each one cut for three social formats. The lighting and framing changed from clip to clip, so a lot of the work was color correcting it all until it looked like one shoot.
- After Effects
- On “Ask Mark Anything” I animated the question that opens each video, Mark’s title, the subtitles and the outro. And as an intern at WIZDM I drew and animated a social campaign about mindful eating.
- Blender
- I model, rig and animate characters in Blender, like Gregory, whom I designed with Maggie Brennan de Jesus, and a frog who runs through a meadow at night. The curly-haired goofball you’re looking at was made in Blender too.
- Game art
- What happens when a wizard takes a job in sales? In Merlin Gone Corporate, lizard-people from the CIA take over his office looking for him. I drew all the pixel art and animations, and Nate Agpaoa was head programmer.
- Agentic coding
- At Engrain I use LLMs and agentic coding to build the tools our production team works in: Illustrator extensions, and a Python and JSX pipeline that runs Illustrator headless so our very niche projects build themselves. When one doesn't, there are dashboards to track, edit and fix it.
